Del Valle High School's Jake Fette looks to make a throw during play against Cooper High School at Del Valle High School on Nov. 14, 2024. Del Valle won their opening playoff game.

Arizona State landed a huge under-the-radar commitment from El Paso (Texas) Del Valle four-star quarterback Jake Fette on Sept. 22.

Now the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 5 QB in the 2026 On300, Fette has continued to rise as a prospect, now heading into his senior year. On Thursday, he picked up a big offer from Brian Kelly and Co. at LSU.

The Tigers are the latest SEC program to gain some interest in the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder. He landed an offer from Ole Miss on Dec. 24 and then Mississippi State earlier this week on Jan. 7.

Quarterback recruiting turned out to be tumultuous for LSU in the 2025 cycle. After holding a commitment from Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood — the nation’s No. 1 recruit — for nearly the entire calendar year, he flipped to Michigan at the end of November. The Tigers did not sign a high school signal-caller last month as a part of their No. 7 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Fette is currently one of three commits in Kenny Dillingham’s 2026 class, alongside Grand Prairie (Texas) South Oak Cliff offensive tackle Cortavious Tisaby and Dripping Springs (Texas) wide receiver Cooper Reid. The Sun Devils did sign a senior QB in San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) Mountain Pointe three-star Michael Tollefson.

Jake Fette Scouting Summary

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Fette is the No. 120 overall prospect. He’s also the No. 9 QB and No. 13 player in Texas in the 2026 cycle.

In 11 games as a junior, Fette threw for 2,488 yards and 32 touchdowns to just one interception. He also ran for 589 yards and 11 scores, per MaxPreps. Del Valle finished with a 10-1 record.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this of Fette:

“Jake Fette is a dynamic playmaker at quarterback. One of the better athletes at QB in the 2026 cycle that we’ve seen thus far…A guy who’s very explosive with the ball in his hands and is off to a strong start in his junior year. Had a game recently where he threw eight touchdowns in the first half, so he’s playing really well.

“A true dual-threat and a fluid athlete with a good arm. We were high on him coming out of his sophomore year and when we’ve looked at how he’s played to this point as a junior, we felt like his high ranking was merited at this point,” Power said. “A guy who’s floated a little under the radar to this point, from El Paso, a city that’s not loaded with typical blue-chip prospects. What we’ve seen from Fette this far, the overall athleticism and playmaking, has been very encouraging.”
