After an opening-drive touchdown, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts celebrated the score with Justin Jefferson‘s signature celebration. Hurts punched in the three-yard rushing touchdown to cap an 82-yard drive, then hit the Vikings with a “Griddy dance” touchdown celebration of his own.

The Eagles opened their Monday Night Football appearance with an 82-yard touchdown drive, continuing a trend that started with their offense in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. Philadelphia was the only team with multiple drives over 80 yards for touchdowns last week, and they added another in the first quarter against Minnesota.

Adding insult to injury, Hurts made a point to celebrate with the Griddy touchdown dance made popular by Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson, finishing the dance with a dismissive hand-wave in front of the camera.

The first quarter ended without another score by either team, with three quarters left in the game for Jefferson and the Vikings to get a chance to exact some revenge in the primetime game.

Unfortunately for Jefferson, the Vikings offense struggled mightily against the Eagles defense throughout the game, as quarterback Kirk Cousins threw 27-for-46 for just 221 yards and one touchdown while throwing three interceptions. The Eagles dominated on defense and won the Monday night matchup 24-7 behind two rushing touchdowns and one passing score from Hurts.

The Eagles improved to 2-0 on the early season with a lead over the rest of the NFC East division, while the loss pushed Minnesota to 1-1 after opening the year with a win over the Green Bay Packers.
