Terrell Owens is campaigning to become the oldest player in the NFL, trying to land on a roster 12 years after he actually retired in 2010. Of course, one of the teams he’s eying to join is the Dallas Cowboys, who Owens played with for three years in the back half of his career. Owens’ agent confirmed this week that the five-time All-Pro even called Jerry Jones to discuss a potential reunion.

However, Jones is not in favor of signing Owens to the team. He joined 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Friday morning, where he dispelled any rumors that TO could return to America’s Team.

“I’ve never talked to him or his agent. And I will not seriously consider it,” said Jerry Jones, bluntly relaying his desire not to bring back a 49-year-old wide receiver who last played in the NFL in 2010 alongside Chad Ochocinco and Carson Palmer.

Owens and his team are still serious about joining the Cowboys, or any NFL team for that matter.

Owens’ agent Gregory D.L. Daniel told NFL reporter Aaron Wilson: “Terrell is ready to contribute and play any role, big or small. He’s in outstanding shape. He looks no different than he did years ago. I watched him running routes full-speed with DeSean [Jackson] and he looked great. He didn’t drop a pass.

“He most recently ran a 4.5 40-yard dash, which was his warm-up. He’s a legend. We want to make history and see him break these records. If anybody can do it, it’s him. His three Ds are desire, dedication and discipline. He embodies that every day, even running hills at 3 a.m. on Christmas morning.”

Sounds like TO is doing whatever he can to make a roster 12 years after his retirement. Just doesn’t seem like his return will happen in Dallas.
