Jerry Jones gives multiple injury updates after Monday Night Football victory
The Dallas Cowboys were far from 100% during their Monday Night Football victory in New York over the Giants. Obviously, starting quarterback Dak Prescott is out, as was No. 2 wide receiver Michael Gallup and starting tight end Dalton Schultz. So a major hit to the Cowboys passing game. Yet they still came away victorious.
After the game, Dallas’ outspoken owner, Jerry Jones, took it upon himself to update the injury report. Normally something done by the coaching or training staff and almost never the owner of the team. Nonetheless, Jerry Jones joined 105.3 The Fan to update the statuses of the two injured pass catchers.
Here was Jones’ update, as tweeted by Jon Machota of The Athletic:
“At the end of the day, the player has to feel right,” said Jones. According to Machota, Jones expressed that Schultz and Gallup did not feel right on Monday. Lastly, Jones added: “We let those guys make the call. They’ll be out there next week in all likelihood.”
So a likely return for these guys.

“I think his progress is nothing short of amazing,” Jones said. “It’s a question of whether or not he’ll be able to grip and throw the ball, and we don’t know that.”
Prescott left the Cowboy’s opening loss to Tampa Bay with a thumb injury that some feared would keep hi out for a significant amount of time. However, he has made significant progress and it appears he could be available any week now.
While there have been new storylines about a QB controversy between him and Rush, Dallas isn’t paying Prescott $160 million to sit on the sideline when healthy. It’s just a matter of when now with Dallas’ franchise quarterback well on his way back.
