Jerry Jones reveals Dallas Cowboys' real interest in Odell Beckham Jr.
The Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes has been one of the more random underlying storylines of this NFL season. After tearing his ACL in Super Bowl LVI, OBJ has not landed on a roster yet for the 2022 campaign. Still, interest has grown the entire season around the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver from several franchises and players.
Of those franchises, the Dallas Cowboys name has come up more than once. Question marks out wide would make it easy for Jerry Jones to slide Beckham Jr. in if he so chose. With those rumors swirling around, Jones addressed them today in an appearance on 105.3 The Fan. He said Beckham Jr. is a player that Dallas respects. If things worked out, he says they’d be more than happy to have him wear the star.

“Odell is someone that we have all the appreciation in the world for what he is as a competitor. And (we) know that the Cowboys star on that helmet when he puts it on could look pretty good,” said Jones.

Beckham Jr. spent his first five seasons competing against Dallas in the NFC East as a member of the New York Giants. He then spent time over the last three seasons with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams. There’s no doubt Beckham Jr. could impact a team under the assumption that he’s healthy. In his career, OBJ has 531 catches, 7,367 yards, and 56 receiving touchdowns to his name.
However, no team has made a call yet when it comes to the Super Bowl champion receiver. With the trade deadline passed and the season on the backstretch, though, Beckham Jr. just became the most attainable prospect on the market. It’ll now be a wait-and-see game whether any team, including Jones and the Cowboys, brings him in for a playoff push.
