If a player’s highlight goes viral, it is customary for them to become synonymous with that clip. Everyone remembers when ‘insert player’ pulled off that ‘insert insane moment’ on the field or court. For Philadelphia Eagles rookie DT Jordan Davis, his came early in training camp. His reaction to it was a strange one, however, especially when you consider his age.

Davis discussed the clip where he bull rushed fellow rookie lineman Cam Jurgens on Wednesday. He told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer that one rep does not make a training camp.

“I hate it honestly. It’s very one-sided. You see one rep, but you don’t see Cam…getting me in the other reps,” said Davis. “I always say looks can be deceiving. One rep goes viral? Whatever. Whoop de woo. Cam was holding his own.”

Considering their rookie statuses, most would expect this to become a feather in Davis’ cap in the Philly locker room. Instead, Davis gave a very mature answer about the clip. He gave his teammate, regardless of the specific rep in question, credit and, as a 22 year old, it was a positive sign of maturity for the former Bulldog.

The defense of the Philadelphia Eagles has slowly fallen off ever since the team won Super Bowl LII in 2017. Their next step towards fixing that was by drafting Jordan Davis with the No. 13 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Based on his showing tonight during the Eagle’s public practice tonight from Lincoln Financial Field, it looks like he’s making his presence felt early.

During one of his reps, you can watch as Davis absolutely bull rush his opposition several yards back.

Davis just finished off his best college season as a senior at Georgia. He produced 32 tackles, two sacks and a pass deflection for the Bulldogs. Davis was a key part of Georgia’s historic defense that saw eight players drafted including five in the first round.

This look at Davis shows a player who’s ready to make an impact for Philadelphia right away. If he can keep producing defensive line highlights like this in real game action, he should see the field early and often in the pros.
