New commit Joshua Moore says "I want to be a Miami great"
Mario Cristobal and Miami landed perhaps it’s biggest commitment of the 2025 recruiting cycle on Tuesday when Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward On300 receiver Joshua Moore announced his flip from Florida.
Tabbed by On3 as the nation’s No. 8 player at his position and No. 41 prospect overall, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Moore’s verbal saw this Hurricanes class rise to No 10 in the On3 Industry Rankings.
“It’s amazing,” Moore said. “I’m excited to be a Hurricane and I want to be a Miami great.”
Cristobal the Hurricanes staff are working to restore the program back to greatness as well. Moore and his talent certainly meet the standard they’re looking to fill each position room with.
“Joshua Moore is one of the most physically-gifted wide receiver prospects in the 2025 cycle,” On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power said. “At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, he has a big frame to go with twitchy athleticism. We see this show up on Friday nights, with Moore showing a large catch radius and ability to pick up yards after the catch. He will need to refine the technical side of his game, but there is considerable potential as he continues to develop.”
Moore had been a verbal to Florida since June but Cristobal communicated with him daily and receivers coach Kevin Beard and analyst David Cooney were integral in the process for Moore as well.

“Just them making me feel at home every time I go down there,” Moore said. “It feels like a brotherhood. They’re always making sure I’m alright, checking up on me and checking up on my family. It’s more than football over there. Everyone over there is genuine.
“Like I said, I’m really excited to get developed and be great.”
As undefeated Miami continues its march towards a potential ACC Championship and College Football Playoff, Cristobal and company continue to pound the pavement on the trail. Moore isn’t the last receiver they hope to flip with Oregon five-star commit Dallas Wilson and Texas five-star commit Jaime Ffrench still out there. They also have a couple more in the Florida class they like in receiver Vernell Brown III and defensive back Ben Hanks Jr.
From five-star cornerback DJ Pickett, to top-ranked defensive lineman Elijah Griffin and prospects like Kellen Wiley, TJ Alford, Derry Norris and Kellen Wiley, Cristobal is hoping Moore’s commitment is just the beginning in a push towards a second-straight top five recruiting class.
“They have really great potential right now,” Moore said of the program. “I love what they’re building. They’re building a great program.”
