Judge warns Glen Davis after courtside appearance at Celtics-Heat game
A federal judge officially warned former Celtics player Glen Davis not to appear courtside at another Boston game this season. Davis was in attendance for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals at TD Garden, which is a violation of his bail conditions according to a Manhattan federal judge.
Glen Davis in trouble with judge
Davis — well known by his NBA nickname “Big Baby” — appeared in court on Tuesday after being in attendance for Game 4 on Monday. According to NESN, Davis was heavily criticized and warned by the judge for violating his bail conditions. Davis is one of 18 former NBA players who were charged with defrauding the NBA’s health and welfare benefit plan. He was released on $200,000 bail, and his travel was restricted to New York and California only.
Davis was publicly filmed at the game cheering on his former team and even got into a verbal altercation with Miami Heat center Dewayne Dedmon.
“You have fouled out, in basketball terms,” the judge told Davis. “If there’s another foul, you’re going straight from here to the (Metropolitan Detention Center).

”You’re going to get caught because you’re all over social media, so you’ve got to comply with these rules. Do you think you can do that?”
The judge’s warning was a strong statement that will almost certainly keep Davis from making any quick public appearances in Boston — with the threat of jail time hanging over his head. However, Davis is allowed to travel to more games this year if he asks permission first. If Davis wishes to travel, he must ask his pre-trial service officer at least a week in advance for permission to travel.
Davis was earlier caught on cameras in a viral moment at TD Garden when he was caught on camera being kicked out of a courtside seat by the seat’s owner. The internet was quick to make jokes that Davis wasn’t allowed to sit courtside, or that Boston didn’t want to give him better seats — something that Davis was quick to downplay by claiming he sat in the wrong seat because somebody was in his seat and he didn’t want to move them initially.
