Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields has taken a number of massive hits during his football career. On Saturday against the Buffalo Bills, he took another one, getting absolutely leveled by linebacker Andre Smith. Check the video clip below courtesy of PFF.

Smith came off the edge on a blitz untouched. As you can see from the video above, Fields’ helmet was knocked off and the football came free. Andre Smith was called for roughing the passer after the hit.

The rookie quarterback updated his status after the game, “I’m all good,” Fields said of being slammed. “I’ve taken many harder hits than that.”

He’s not lying. Fields took one of the hardest hits of the college football season, when he was leveled by Clemson linebacker James Skalski in the 2021 Sugar Bowl.

Check the hit out below.

Fields was trying to spin away from Skalski’s hit in the open field but instead got drilled by Skalski’s helmet right in the center of his back.

Fields was asked after the game if doctors informed him of the extent of his injury during the Clemson game. “They didn’t really tell me anything,” he said. “I took a shot or two and just ran back out there. But it’s pretty much my whole right is sore. That’s messed up. And a little, my hip. But they didn’t really give me a diagnosis at all.”

Fields gritted the injury out and went on to have the best performance of his college football career. He delivered a true masterpiece. Fields carved up the Clemson secondary by completing 22 of his 28 pass attempts for 385 passing yards and six touchdowns.

FIELDS CONTINUES TO SHINE IN PRESEASON

Justin Fields continues to shine in the preseason for the Chicago Bears, dazzling Bears fans with his effortless ability to make plays outside the pocket. Against the Bills, he rushed four times for 46 yards on the ground.

He wasn’t as sharp as a passer against the Bills, completing 9 of his 19 passing attempts for 80 yards, while tossing in no interceptions and no touchdowns.

He misfired on a high throw in the back of the end zone, but still made some beautifully accurate tosses that remind fans of his jaw-dropping potential as an NFL prospect.

Fields and the Bears have their next preseason game on August 28th against the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM EST on NFL Network.
