Report: Kansas City Chiefs are a 'strong contender' to sign Odell Beckham Jr
Former LSU star receiver and free agent Odell Beckham Jr may have a new home on a Super Bowl contending team, the Kansas City Chiefs. With the NFL playoff picture beginning to take shape and rosters moving deeper into the season, Beckham’s services as a veteran wideout are becoming one of the most intriguing free agent options for teams in a Super Bowl hunt.
Chiefs interested in signing Odell Beckham Jr.
“Chiefs regarded as strong contender for veteran free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., per league sources, as he contemplates options, continues to make steady progress in his recovery from torn ACL. Potential connection between OBJ and Patrick Mahomes is intriguing,” explained Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
Beckham made a huge impact on the field for the Los Angeles Rams last season as they won a championship — although repeated problems with ACL tears have kept him a free agent as the season began. Beckham appeared to tear his ACL during the Super Bowl after catching two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown, but later the star receiver stated that he had already torn his ACL prior to the playoffs.

According to Beckham last season, he played the back half of the season with an ACL injury — appearing in eight regular-season games and four playoff games for the Rams. The confusion surrounding Beckham’s injuries goes even further back then last year’s injury during the Super Bowl as well.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport in April of this year, Beckham’s recent surgery following the end of last season was one that corrected issues that were not fixed when he previously had knee surgery during his time with the Cleveland Browns. Rapoport indicated that the latest surgery Beckham underwent was a very successful one, and could extend his career in the NFL further than expected.
