WATCH: Patrick Mahomes saves Josh Allen with one-handed catch at golf tournament
Kansas City Chiefs MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been showing off his athletic ability during this offseason on the golf course. And on Saturday, the former Texas Tech star gave us another example of his athletic ability.
While heading to their next hole at the American Century Championship tournament, with Buffalo Bills young star quarterback Josh Allen, Mahomes stepped in and made a smooth but casual one-handed catch. The duo was making their way down to the 17th hole when Mahomes showed off his wide receiver one skills.
Mahomes ended today alone in 51st at the celebrity golfing event. Despite being out of contention for the win, the Chiefs quarterback still ended the day with yet another highlight.
The event’s third and final round will begin on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. CT on NBC. Along with the two AFC star quarterbacks, the field is chocked full of star power, including this year’s MVP of the NBA Finals, Steph Curry, and field leader former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder.

Former Georgia Bulldog star Deandre Baker officially signs free agent deal with Kansas City Chiefs
Former Georgia Bulldog standout Deandre Baker officially signed his free agent deal with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday afternoon, per Field Yates of ESPN. A former first round pick (30th overall selection) in the 2019 NFL Draft, Baker started 15 games for the New York Giants that year, racking up 61 tackles and two tackles for loss.
Last year with the Chiefs, he started one game, tallying 13 total tackles in limited action. He faced armed robbery charges for an incident during the 2020 season, but those charges were eventually dropped. The Giants cut ties with him, which led to him signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. Baker also suffered a gruesome broken leg injury on Jan. 3, 2021 against the LA Chargers.
Blessed with an excellent combination of tackling ability and coverage instincts, there were many NFL Draft analysts that were once raving about his potential in the National Football League, including ESPN’s Todd McShay. It’ll be interesting to see if he can fulfill his vast potential at some point in the future.
