Bossier City (La.) Airline four-star wide receiver Kenny Darby told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Saturday that he has shut down his recruitment. He has been committed to LSU since Nov. 12.

“LSU suits me the best & the best in the boot stay in the boot,” Darby said.

Darby had previously been committed to Mississippi State. He was a part of the Bulldogs’ 2026 class from June 7 until Nov. 3.

“I committed to LSU because they showed me mad love. The atmosphere and the environment was crazy and the fans always pack the stadium,” Darby told On3 when he committed to the Tigers.

“I want to be a part of that and they put wide receivers in the draft every year. They develop receivers and they are WRU. I feel like I can have a lot of success at LSU and I feel like I fit the mode of an LSU wide receiver.”

LSU offered Darby two days before his commitment, and he told On3 that an offer from the home-state school was all he had been waiting for.

“They have state-of-the-art facilities and an experienced coaching staff that can help you develop your skills and reach your full potential. LSU has a rich history and tradition in football too. The fan base is passionate and LSU has a track record of success in the SEC and national championships.

“Also, LSU offers excellent academic programs and support services, ensuring you can succeed both on and off the field.”

Darby is the nation’s No. 249 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 39 WR in the class and the No. 9 recruit from the state of Louisiana.

Also committed to LSU in the 2026 class are: New Orleans Edna Karr top-50 defensive lineman Richard Anderson, Edna Karr top-50 safety Aiden Hall, Tupelo (Miss.) four-star DL JaReylan McCoy, New Orleans McDonogh 35 four-star WR Jakai Anderson and New Orleans Warren Easton three-star offensive lineman Jalan Chapman.
