Five-star Keyonte George has committed to Baylor basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.
George is the Bears’ second commitment in the class, following four-star small forward Dillon Hunter. The national champs are looking to push hard and land big on the recruiting trail, as they are one of the frontrunners for top-five combo guard Anthony Black and top-five center Vince Iwuchukwu.
George, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, chose the Baylor Bears over the likes of Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma State and Kentucky.
George, a native of Lewisville, Texas, plays for iSchool Academy where he averaged over 23 points as a junior.
Keyonte George on why he chose the Baylor Bears
“I chose (Baylor) because it felt like a family,” Keyonte George said. “They showed love since seventh or eighth grade. Their playing style is the system I want to be in. They can help me become the best version of me and push me to my limits and help me reach my ultimate goal and dream.”

Has Baylor always been the favorite to land Keyonte George?
Sources to On3 indicate that was not always been the case. In fact, Texas was the favorite to land George for the majority of his recruitment. It was highly believed by most individuals that Keyonte George would teamup with fellow iSchool teammate, Arterio Morris.
Something seems to have shifted in the balance along the way, and now Baylor lands their second-highest ranked commit in the modern recruiting era. Isaiah Austin is the only recruit who ranked higher.
