WATCH: Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott involved in big wreck at NASCAR All-Star Race

Kyle Busch took an early lead at Texas Motor Speedway in NASCAR’s 2022 All-Star Race, with $1 million on the line, but blew a tire while out in front and wrecked. As he tried to get off the racing surface quickly to avoid further issues, a much larger wreck occurred, nearly sending a car onto its roof.
When Kyle Busch attempted to dive to the bottom of the track at low speeds, Ross Chastain could not slow down or move up the track in time to avoid a collision. NASCAR reports that he was travelling over 185 mph when contact occurred.
After connecting with the outside corner, his car flew into the air and came close to flipping before hitting the ground and running into Chase Elliott. Elliott, NASCAR’s most popular driver, then went into the wall hard, ending his day as well.
All three drivers came into the race among the favorites to win but now must watch from the infield after going through medical checks with the NASCAR safety staff. The end of their day will not cost them in the standing because it is an all-star event, but they are no longer eligible for the cash prizes associated with a high finish.
The wreck also occurred just minutes after Kyle Larson, knocked out of the race in a previous crash, told reporters that the race was Kyle Busch’s to lose thanks to the difficult passing situations on the track.

Cowboys Hall of Famer watches NASCAR race
Dallas Cowboys legend Drew Pearson joined the FOX broadcast booth on Sunday night while watching the 2022 NASCAR All-Star race at Texas Motor Speedway. The new Hall of Famer discussed his love of the sport, as well as his desire to see No. 88 retired after his playing career.
During his appearance with broadcasters Mike Joy and Clint Boyer, Drew Pearson started off by showing great appreciation for the opportunity to see the NASCAR race up close and from a unique vantage point.
“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Pearson. “These are the kinds of opportunities I’ve been getting since I’ve been in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I should’ve tried a long time ago to get in, because this is pretty cool right here.”
