Antonio Brown releases statement accusing Tampa Bay Buccanneers of mistreatment
After staying silent about the incident which transpired on Sunday against the New York Jets, wide receiver Antonio Brown is finally sharing his side of the story.
This whole thing started in Brown’s second game back after serving a three-game suspension for violation of the league’s COVID policies. With the Buccaneers struggling against the Jets, Brown was seen taking off his shirt and throwing it into the crowd. But it didn’t stop there. Afterward, Brown ran to the locker room, stopping in the opposite end-zone and waved to the crowd. Before entering the tunnel, Brown threw up the peace sign to the fans in attendance.
But what was the reason for his actions? Well, Brown explained, at length, just what set him off in this letter via his legal team courtesy of ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Twitter.
After the game, Arians said the wideout has been cut and will no longer be with the organization. When the wide receiver was originally signed, Arians said he could make one mistake before the team decided to move on. This was one of a couple of major incidents surrounding Brown. For Arians, it was the last straw.

Bruce Arians’ update on Brown
It’s day number four of the ongoing story involving the wide receiver and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It seemed like a done deal that Brown’s time with Tampa Bay was officially done after Sunday. But here it is Wednesday and the Buccaneers have yet to make a move. Tampa Bay still has not released the receiver, nor have they put any roster designations on him.
The disgruntled receiver did appear on the Buccaneers practice report for Wednesday as a nonparticipant for non-injury-related reasons.
Greg Auman, of The Athletic, posted this tweet on Wednesday as the situation continues to develop.
“Arians said how Bucs will handle Antonio Brown’s roster status is a ‘management decision.’ Made it clear he’s not part of the team moving forward.”
