The Los Angeles Rams officially signed former Texas kicker Cameron Dicker to their roster Monday, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. It was previously reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero after the 2022 NFL Draft that Dicker planned to sign with the Rams as an undrafted free agent.

Dicker kicked for Texas for four years, finishing with just one missed extra point in every season and an average field goal percentage of 75.9 percent — 22nd all-time in Big 12 history. He has also scored the most points (386) by a placekicker in Longhorns history, as well as the third-most from a player regardless of position.

Dicker is set to join a Rams squad that won the Super Bowl this past season after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams roster already features a kicker in Matt Gay, so Dicker will have competition. Los Angeles re-signed Gay as a restricted free agent on a contract worth $2.54 million next year.

With no Longhorns being selected in the draft itself for the first time since 1938, Cameron Dicker is among the numerous Texas players beginning their careers in free agency. Other former Longhorns to sign as undrafted free agents are cornerback Josh Thompson (Jaguars), wide receiver/safety Brenden Schooler (Patriots), and offensive linemen Denzel Okafor (Jaguars) and Derek Kerstetter (Bills).

This past season, Dicker also served as a punter in addition to retaining his role as the starting kicker. He excelled in the role, not only earning first team All-Big 12 honors, but also being named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation’s top punter. He averaged 46.8 yards to lead the Big 12 and rank ninth in FBS. As a kicker, he posted an 86.7% completion rate to finish 14th in the nation, and was named honorable mention Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year as a result.
