LSU latest to offer fast-rising junior college cornerback Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott, one of the top junior college cornerbacks, continues to heat up on the recruiting trail.
Scott, who is 6-foot and 185 pounds, announced on social media Tuesday he had landed a scholarship offer from the LSU Tigers. The Tigers join a list of nearly 30 schools that have already offered the consensus three-star prospect from Snow College.
On Sunday, Scott tweeted out a top 12 list that included Auburn, BYU, California, Florida State, Nebraska, NC State, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Utah and Washington. It’s unclear what the offer from LSU does to that list. But based on his social media interactions, it’s safe to say the Tigers are going to be a factor in his recruitment.
Keionte Scott’s recruitment heating up
Late October is when junior college prospects start heating up on the recruiting trail. Schools have multiple game films to evaluate college-ready juco prospects. Keionte Scott’s recruitment and film is a perfect example of that process.
Since October, Scott has landed offers from Minnesota, Nebraska, NC State, Florida State, TCU, SMU and now LSU. Auburn, a school that offered in late September, is scheduled to get an official visit in late November.

What makes Keionte Scott such an attractive player is that he’ll have four years to play three seasons at his next stop. Scott attended La Mesa (Calif.) Helix before heading to junior college as a non-qualifier. He will be a spring graduate from Snow College.
Second visit on tap for Scott
The visit to Auburn will be Keionte Scott’s second official trip of the recruiting cycle. He took an official visit to Arizona on June 18.
Scott does not plan to decide until the start of the February signing period. As a freshman at Snow, he had 27 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 5.5 tackles for a loss and three interceptions.
As Scott continues through the recruiting process, he has a good idea of what he is looking for in a school. He said he wants to pick a school with good education. Then he wants to see if he can envision himself living and playing football in that community.
