Mark Ingram reacts to Alabama's spot in College Football Playoff rankings
Alabama did not have the toughest opponent in Week 12, dipping into the FCS ranks for a matchup against Mercer. Even so, the College Football Playoff committee put them three spots higher in Tuesday’s rankings at No. 7. Multiple teams in front of them lost but Alabama did jump Miami, who was on a bye.
FOX analyst Mark Ingram has his reaction to Alabama’s spot in the CFP rankings. He believes the Crimson Tide are in the right spot and labeled them as a “dangerous team” thanks to the offensive capability behind quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Citing performances in the two biggest wins of the season, Ingram is confident in how Kalen DeBoer’s squad will look moving forward.
“They’re looking really good right now,” Ingram said. “If this Alabama team you saw play against Georgia in the first half, if you see that team that played against LSU — that is one of the most dangerous teams in the nation. They have a shot against any team with Jalen Milore at the quarterback position because when he plays with his electric playmaking ability with his legs but also the downfield explosive playmaker with his arm — this Alabama team is a dangerous team. I love where they’re sitting at. Just keep sleeping on my squad.”

A group of five two-loss SEC teams find themselves ranked inside the top 15. Alabama is at the top of the bunch, followed by Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, and then Texas A&M. One conference foe, Texas, is ranked ahead of Bama at No. 3 but only has one loss on their resume.
If people are “sleeping” on Alabama as Ingram is saying, they might be wide awake in a few weeks. A path to the SEC Championship is clear, needing to win out and Missouri to win one of its final two games against Mississippi State and Arkansas.
Getting back to Atlanta would present an opportunity to climb even higher in the CFP rankings and the eventual seeding in the 12-team bracket. Ingram appears content with being No. 7 at the moment but knows the final weeks provided a lot of opportunity for the Crimson Tide.
