Matt LaFleur: Aaron Rodgers 'feeling better' after ribs injury Sunday night
After suffering a ribs injury Sunday night, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is “feeling better,” according to Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur. Packers beat writer Matt Schneidman tweeted Monday that MRI results came back on Rodgers’ injury, but LaFleur was still unable to confirm his status heading into Week 13.
“I know he’s feeling better today,” the coach said. “I think we’ll know more in the next couple days.”
Aaron Rodgers was seen wincing in pain and holding his side near the end of the third quarter against the Eagles on Sunday evening, and NBC’s Melissa Stark revealed that he suffered an injury to his ribs. The quarterback finished out the remainder of the drive at the time, but was seen jogging to the locker room after a field goal from Mason Crosby. He never returned to the game, finishing 11-of-16 passing for 140 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

According to Adam Schefter and Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Rodgers was worried about the possibility of puncturing his lung. As of now, there is no information as to what the results of the MRI revealed.

The Packers fell to 4-8 on the season with the loss, and that record raises the question of whether it would even be worth it for Rodgers to return at this point. Former first round pick Jordan Love took over after Rodgers left the game, finishing 6-of-9 passing for 113 yards and a touchdown in just one quarter of play.
If Rodgers is unable to go next week, expect Love to pick up the start in his absence. Green Bay is set to face NFC North rival Chicago at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Soldier Field.
