NFL draft experts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have started to break down and evaluate the prospects for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. On a recent episode of their show, First Draft, Kiper and McShay discussed the stock of USC’s Jordan Addison and where he could land.

“I think if he gets to the Giants. A guy that can get downfield and make plays and get Daniel Jones a guy,” said Kiper. “He’s got a fifth, sixth, seventh round pick he’s throwing to in New York right now. (He’s) got a number two pick Wan’Dale Robinson coming back. When you look at Jordan Addison, what he did with Kenny Pickett, what he did this year with Caleb Williams; talking about a guy that can get down the field and make plays… after the catch, how dynamic he can be as well. Run after the catch ability for a guy who, at two different programs, lit it up.”

After a surprisingly successful season under first-year head coach Brian Daboll, New York Giants find themselves with the No. 25 pick in the upcoming draft. The Baltimore Ravens are three spots ahead of the Giants at No. 22.

“So, for Jordan Addison, for the giants in particular, for the Ravens, again, this is the guy consistently at two different programs with two different quarterbacks, both of which are outstanding… the production was undeniable. And certainly, if he’s there, and I think he could be there for either the Baltimore Ravens or the New York Giants.”

McShay and Kiper see eye-to-eye when it comes to the value of Addison. However, for him, if the former USC and Pitt Panther star were to fall that far in the draft, it would be a steal for whoever acquired his services.

“I think if he’s late in the first round, he’s a steal,” said McShay. “Because he is so smooth after the catch. And I know he’s not Marvin Harrison, but he’s got a lot of those traits where it’s just undersized, smooth after the catch, and tracking the deep ball. I see a lot of that in him.”

Before he arrived at USC, Addison had a monster year at Pitt to win the Biletnikoff. He totaled 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns to help lead the Panthers to an ACC title. The 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner finished his lone season with the Trojans with 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns.

Both McShay and Kiper see Addison as a top-receiver talent in the 2023 NFL Draft. But given how many people believe this draft is deep at the wideout position, he might have to wait a while until he hears his name called. And that could bode well for either of the two playoff teams mentioned, who are both in the market for a talented receiver like Addison.
