Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens, Class of 2027, has committed to Miami, he announced on Monday.

The soon-to-be junior chose the Hurricanes while also holding plenty of other Power Four offers. He visited Ohio State and NC State in addition to Miami.

He’s already logged multiple visits to Coral Gables and is now in the mix for head coach Mario Cristobal, receivers coach Kevin Beard and Co.

“How the coaches bond, the campus, the offense, the team,” Stevens said of what stands out about the Canes. “A lot of stuff that stands out and I’ve been liking them since I was little.”

“Coach Beard he offered me since I was a freshman, like my sixth offer and he built a tight bond with me,” he added. “Coach Cristobal would tell me a lot of great things and going to the games and seeing how they operate was big.”

The 6-foot, 165-pounder becomes the first member of Miami’s 2027 recruiting class. Stevens says he wanted to “close the recruiting process early.”

“His cousin Dallas Crawford played for Miami when he was growing up. Miami made him feel like home. Ah’Mari’s been touring campus for awhile and Miami stood out to him and felt like home,” Stevens’ father, Frederick, said. “Coach Cristobal is a heck of a recruiter. You can tell by the caliber of players been there his short tenure. Who wouldn’t want to play for a hometown product you see blossoming in front of your face. It’s a special situation to have happening right in your backyard.”

Stevens totaled 910 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore.
