Two of the best defensive players in pro sports are coming to the defense of a kid at Arvin High School in California. The boy is a special needs child at the school and the video below was released of him being bullied by other students, including having some of his hair cut off.

Just awful stuff. But he may have some enviable allies. Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons saw the video on twitter and responded, asking if anyone knew where he could find the kid who was bullied. Here was his response to the original video:

Looks like Parsons is trying to do right by a boy who was completely mistreated by his classmates. And he might have some help from Boston Celtics guard and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart. He replied to that Micah Parsons tweet offering his own help in the search for Javier, the name of the boy who was bullied. Here was Smart’s message:

“I’ll jump in Micah! Does anyone have Javier’s contact info? Don’t post his personal info here but email [email protected] on how to get in touch w him or his family and we’ll get the celtics and puma to send a little something his way. We got his back.”

Nice to see two top pro athletes mobilize so quickly to help youth in need. Parsons and Smart are role models on the football field and basketball court, especially with their heart and effort on the defensive end. But the two are also showing that leading off the field is important by standing up for Javior and against the people who bullied him.

Good on Marcus Smart and Micah Parsons. Providing the example for kids who idol them that bullying is never okay and should always be put to a stop.
