During his press conference on Wednesday, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy opened up briefly about NFL free agent Odell Beckham Jr.‘s visit to the DFW Metroplex. Although he shared no updates on the team’s status in negotiations with the former LSU star, McCarthy said he enjoyed his time with him.

“I thought the visit went very well,” McCarthy said, via Jon Machota, adding that he had no update. “I liked his vibe, I enjoyed everything about our talk.”

The former Green Bay skipper and his squad are focused on their next opponent – the Houston Texans.

Following Monday’s visit from the former Giant, the team is reportedly still harboring concerns about his health. ESPN’s Ed Werder shared a report from a source that revealed Beckham is still questionable to contribute for the remainder of the season.

“The #Cowboys have concerns after Odell Beckham Jr.’s physical that his recovery from torn left ACL in Super Bowl has not progressed enough to ensure he would play before mid-January and possibility exists signing him would have no benefit until 2023 season,” Werder tweeted on Tuesday.

Part of the visit was a health checkup at the Star facility with head athletic trainer Jim Maurer and director of rehabilitation Britt Brown.

The 30-year-old receiver is coming back from a second ACL tear in the past two seasons, leaving many, including the Cowboys, to wonder how healthy he currently is.

Jones reviews OBJ’s visit to Dallas

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones joined 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday after Beckham‘s very public visit to the DFW Metroplex on Monday. Jones said he “enjoyed every minute” of the former Giant’s trip, which included “extensive meetings.”

“We had pretty extensive meetings,” Jones said, via Jon Machota. “We spent quite a bit of time together. I enjoyed every minute of it. We’ll get back together today and see where we go from here. A lot of variables. It has to fit for both parties.”

“By no means are we in a position to say how close or where we are,” Jones added. “We’re just discussing the many options that are there.”
