Mike McCarthy uses baby pics of Dallas Cowboys players to make point about playoff drought
The postseason is always a fascinating time to follow the Dallas Cowboys. Regardless of their regular season record, the franchise’s true aspiration are made or broken during that part of the year and that part of the year only. As they prepare for a trip to Tampa Bay looking for their first road win in the playoffs since 1992, Mike McCarthy used a creative tactic to prove a point about making sure their playoff woes don’t continue.
Per Jon Machota at The Athletic, McCarthy showed baby pictures of the 10 Cowboy players who were alive for that win at San Francisco back in ’92. With that jump spanning over 30 years, McCarthy says this isn’t about correcting the past that they have but, rather, taking advantage of the chance before them per Michael Gelkhen at the Dallas Morning News.
“We have zero responsibility to what’s happened in the past,” said McCarthy. “This is about our opportunity.”
The Cowboys went on to win the Super Bowl during that ’92 season. They won two more in the next three seasons in 1993 and 1995. Since then, though, Dallas hasn’t competed for the NFC crown, let alone in the Super Bowl.
With shortcomings in the Divisional and Wild Card rounds, this time of year means everything to the franchise. As they sit at 12-5 with a date set with Tom Brady on Monday night, they’re hoping to make a new kind of history by ending those woes and advancing after the playoff’s opening weekend.

Jerry Jones doesn’t expect arrest warrant to impact Cowboys DE Sam Williams’ availability
Following the side-swiping accident that left his Corvette totaled, Sam Williams was lucky to escape without major injuries. The accident did, however, lead to the Plano Police Department issuing a warrant for Williams.
However, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t expect this warrant is going to affect his availability for the Cowboys’ playoff game on Monday.
During an appearance on 105.3 The FAN, Jones made it clear that even though Sam Williams has a reckless driving arrest warrant out, it shouldn’t impact his ability to travel to Florida and take on Tampa Bay.
