Three-star center Mike Nwoko announced this weekend he would be making his final college decision this Thursday, October 6.

The post recently made the transfer from Burlington (NC) School to Napa (CA) Prolific Prep.

Nwoko has taken senior year official visits to Providence (9/9), Georgia Tech (9/16), and Miami (9/23). He took junior year officials to Vanderbilt and Northwestern.

Let’s use the senior year officials as a guideline and go through all the intel we have to rank the contenders.

1. Miami

Nwoko speaks extensively on the relationship he built with the staff, most notably assistant Kotie Kimble. He also likes the way they are looking to play him, as a modern style big.

Miami’s chances: 90 percent

2. Providence

Ed Cooley and assistant Jeff Battle let it be known that Nwoko was a priority. They sold him on his strength and ability to play in the Big East and have been consistent with him since first offering.

Providence’s chances: 5 percent

3. Georgia Tech

The fact he took the visit with his Canadian National Team teammate Vasean Allette was a draw for Nwoko. The two are friends, and he has an interest in playing together.

Georgia Tech’s chances: 5 percent

Final thoughts

Mike Nwoko took a big step in the last eight months. While he was a major factor in The Burlington School winning a state title, his game progressed this summer with Team CP3 on Nike’s EYBL Circuit.

Nwoko’s big focus is on next level development. Miami laid out a path, not only of how they will grow his game, but how they will use him. Miami’s plan checked out.

Also, Miami assistant coach Kotie Kimble did a great job building a relationship. Providence did as well with Cooley and Battle, but Kimble was in there strong from his time at Charlotte. Plan, relationship, and style all match.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine

I have placed my expert pick in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Mike Nwoko to choose Miami. I set my pick with an 80 confidence level.

The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. Starting from the ground up, On3 built an entirely new product that utilizes data, human expertise, and machine learning.
