Mike Tyson reveals summer near-death health scare following loss to Jake Paul
The Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight was a massive letdown for many of the people who tuned in on Saturday night. Tyson showed some good energy for the first two rounds, but completely ran out of gas and his age (58 years old) started to show. Tyson lost the fight by unanimous decision and quite frankly, it wasn’t even close. He only threw 97 punches in the eight round fight, but the boxing legend revealed just how bad his medical situation was over the summer.
Tyson took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon to reveal just how dire his situation was when he had issues with a peptic ulcer. He had eight blood transfusions, lost half his blood, and dropped 25 pounds when he was in the hospital.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time,” Tyson said on his Twitter page.
“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25 pounds in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
