Detroit (Mich.) Cass Technical three-star Khalief Canty has committed to Missouri, giving the Tigers a major boost to their 2026 recruiting class.

Canty chose Eli Drinkwitz and Co. over Michigan, Michigan State, Alabama, Penn State and more than a dozen other reported offers. He took official visits with both the Spartans and Tigers this month, as well as unofficials to Michigan and Alabama.

It was the Tigers who held off all of them though, securing the sixth commitment this cycle.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder is the No. 498 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 45 interior offensive lineman and No. 9 player in the state of Michigan.

On Monday, Chicago three-star running back Maxwell Warner pledged to Mizzou. He and Canty join four-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar, four-star receiver Jabari Brady, four-star linebacker Keenan Harris and three-star tight end Isaac Jensen in Missouri’s class.

Sidwar, who chose Mizzou on April 18, headlines the class as the No. 294 recruit and No. 22 QB this cycle.

“The coaches have high expectations for the program,” Sidwar told On3. “They feel like my skillset fits their style and expect I’ll come in and be a guy in the future that can help achieve their goals.”

“Mizzou is a place that I feel like can develop me on and off the field and I get to compete with and against some of the best football players in the country.”
