New England Patriots cut former Texas receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey
The New England Patriots cut former Texas standout receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey on Tuesday from their practice squad roster. Humphrey was signed to the Patriots on a one-year deal prior to this season and moved back and forth on the active roster and practice squad throughout the season.
Humphrey started two games this season for the Patriots, recording two catches for 20 yards in his time on the field.

The former Texas star began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2019. He recorded his first career NFL touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs late in the 2020 season, and finished his three seasons with New Orleans with 16 catches for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
As a Longhorn, Humphrey had a breakout year his junior season — pulling in 86 receptions for 1176 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2018 season. He was a top-ten receiver in all major metrics in the Big 12 Conference his junior year, and was second in the conference in total receptions.
