New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson has torn ACL, to miss remainder of rookie season
The worst fears of the New York Giants have come true regarding Wan’Dale Robinson.
After leaving Sunday’s showdown with the Detroit Lions with what looked to be a serious knee injury, the concern has come to be confirmed, as Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed the former Kentucky wide receiver and NFL rookie suffered a torn ACL.
“Wan’Dale Robinson tore his right ACL, per Brian Daboll,” tweeted Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. “His season is over.”
Terrible news for the Giants, especially on a short week with the Dallas Cowboys on the docket for Thursday.
Moreover, the Giants drafted Robinson 43rd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. He broke out as a junior in Lexington with record-setting receiving numbers that included 104 catches, 1,334 yards, and seven touchdowns.
After playing New York’s opener, he missed the following four games with a sprained MCL. Overall, Robinson has caught 23 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown. The injury he seems to have suffered against Detroit stings worse considering Sunday was his best game as a pro so far, with nine catches for 100 yards off 13 targets.

He originally exited New York’s game vs. the Detroit Lions after suffering the aforementioned injury in the fourth quarter. Robinson reeled in his ninth reception of the game and was shoved out of bounds by Detroit’s Mike Hughes and Alex Anzalone.
He was seen clutching his knee on the sidelines and had to be helped to the locker room, not putting any weight on his right leg.
Without Wan’Dale Robinson, an already thin Giants receiving corps looks to be in even worse shape. New York will be looking for somebody, anybody to step up, and possibly hope to sign Odell Beckham Jr. for a reunion following the unfortunate news.
