From the moment the Carolina Panthers traded up to the top pick in the NFL Draft, there have been tons of rumors and debate about who the top overall pick is going to be.

Now, Adam Schein, an analyst for NFL.com, has shared who the Panther should take with the first overall pick.

“It’s Bryce Young. It’s always been Bryce Young,” Schein wrote.

“Sure, the small stature is relatively concerning. But quarterbacks in today’s NFL are more protected than ever before. And from a performance perspective, Young certainly hasn’t been affected by his size limitations thus far. He was a five-star recruit coming out of Southern California powerhouse Mater Dei High School; he shredded the SEC for two years and won a Heisman Trophy at Alabama; and he should be the No. 1 overall pick for Carolina.”

The only knock on Bryce Young through the pre-draft process has been that he is small for a traditional starting quarterback in the NFL. However, he’s always been small and has proven that he can play at that size. However, those concerns have also been downplayed by others.

“Young is an excellent processor and an elite playmaker. He’s cool as a cucumber in the biggest moments — no stage is too big. He’s a tough, battle-tested leader. Turn the card in right now, Panthers.”

As of now, it looks like Schein is right and the Panthers will take Bryce Young. He cancelled pre-draft visits and is consistently being projected to go to Carolina first overall.

Nick Saban reacts to Bryce Young possibly going first in the draft

Bryce Young’s head coach at Alabama, Nick Saban, recently spoke about the chances he gets taken first overall by the Carolina Panthers.

“I don’t think there’s any question about the fact that the last three quarterbacks we have had at Alabama are all starters in the league, including Jalen [Hurts], and Bryce may be the first guy picked in the draft. And I think all those things are selling points to guys that want to have a career and develop a career, really at any position, but especially the quarterback position. It speaks volumes of the sort of offense that we’ve has that is quarterback friendly and the receivers that we’ve also had that have been very successful as well,” Saban said.

“So we’re excited for Bryce, we’re certainly hopeful that everything works out for him. I don’t think there’s any question about the fact that most people agree that he was the most productive guy in the draft at that position. But they take size and all that stuff into consideration and all that kind of stuff into consideration. It’s not where you get picked in the draft though, it’s really what kind of career you have and he’s the kind of guy that whatever happens in this is he’s gonna be very dedicated to trying to be the best player he can be.”
