NFL fines Green Bay Packers rookie Quay Walker for shoving Detroit Lions trainer
The NFL has announced its punishment against Green Bay Packers rookie Quay Walker after he shoved a Detroit Lions trainer in Week 18. He’s been fined, but avoided a suspension.
The NFL announced Walker received a $13,261 fine for shoving the trainer, who was tending to an injured player. Walker was ejected from the game, marking the second time this season he was ejected for shoving a coach. The previous incident occurred against the Buffalo Bills.
The next day, Walker apologized via Twitter for pushing the trainer.
“I want to apologize publicly about what happened Sunday night,” Walker tweeted. “I reacted off of my emotions again and take full responsibility of making another stupid decision. Since then I’ve questioned myself on why did I do what I did when the trainer was doing his job!! I was wrong!!
“I understand I have to face everything that comes with the decision I’ve made and I’m definitely paying for it now.”
Walker finished his first season with 121 tackles, seven pass deflections, three forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. The Packers selected him with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft after a career at Georgia.

Kerby Joseph calls out Packers after Lions keep them out of NFL playoffs
The Detroit Lions kept the Green Bay Packers out of the playoffs with a 20-16 win Sunday night during the final game of the regular season.
Lions safety Kerby Joseph knew Detroit had, essentially, nothing to play for coming in due to the Seattle Seahawks’ win earlier in the day. But that did not stop the motivation for Joseph and the Lions.
He sent a message to the Packers following the game, ending their rival’s season.
“If we not going y’all not going either IDC,” he wrote on Twitter.
