The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away and the pressure is mounting on the Arizona Cardinals to make a decision regarding their first-round pick. After going 4-13 in the 2022 season, they locked down the No. 3 overall selection but the front office must now decide to keep the pick or trade it for even more capital.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, there are now six teams giving the Cardinals something to seriously consider before April 27 hits.

“At least six teams have inquired with the Arizona Cardinals about trading up for the third overall pick in the upcoming April 27 NFL Draft, per league sources,” Schefter shared. “Cardinals still are mulling whether to move pick or make it.”

Arizona could get a significant deal in a trade with a team desperate to get “their guy.” To trade up for the No. 1 overall pick, the Carolina Panthers traded DJ Moore, along with the No. 9 and No. 61 picks and future first and second-round selections, to Chicago last month for the right to draft first in 2023.

For the Panthers, in desperate need of the future of the franchise at quarterback, it was worth it. There are several teams with big enough needs to warrant a significant trade. The Cardinals, fully committed to Kyler Murray, don’t need to worry about losing out on a quarterback prospect if they trade a few spots back in the draft.

After the No. 3 pick, Arizona still has a second-round pick, two third-round picks, a fourth, a fifth and two sixth-round picks.

The offseason brought a lot of change to the Cardinals roster. They had 30 players due to hit free agency. Arizona ended up re-signing nine of their own and added 11 new free agents.
