NFL insider offers solution to Packers question mark at wide receiver

Questions at wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers is nothing new. The No. 1 criticism in year’s past has been the franchise’s inability to put playmakers around Aaron Rodgers. They enter 2022 with even more questions after the offseason trade of two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams.

The early observations from Senior NFL Reporter Albert Breer, though, suggests one receiver is starting strong in training camp. He says Romeo Doubs, a fourth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, is making a name for himself with his play and connection with the quarterbacks.

Doubs was a three star prospect and a Top-250 wide receiver in On3’s 2018 Consensus Top Football Recruits. He played four seasons with the Nevada Wolfpack where he caught 225 balls for 3,322 yards and 26 touchdowns. The 225 catches finished 11th all-time in the Mountain West Conference. That led the Packers to draft him 132nd overall this spring.

With Adams gone, the Packers have cobbled together a receiving corp for their back to back MVP quarterback to work with. Some familiar names include Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb and rookie Christian Watson. Based on Breer’s inspections, Doubs is working his way into that group.

Quay Walker was a part of an impressive 2022 NFL Draft class for Georgia. Now, the Green Bay Packers linebacker is trying to make a name for himself in training camp.

The Packers selected Walker No. 22 overall — one of five players from the Bulldogs’ vaunted 2021 defense taken in the first round. It sounds like he’s making an impression in training camp as Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer discussed his fit in the scheme.

Last year, as he helped Georgia to its first national title in 40 years, Walker totaled 65 tackles and 1.5 sacks before the Packers took him in the draft. In the national championship game against Alabama, he had eight tackles — including a tackle for loss — as Georgia defeated the Crimson Tide 33-18.
