Joe Burrow was as a sophomore at Ohio State when Nick Bosa arrived as a freshman. The two became friends — and they’re getting ready to face off in an NFL game this weekend.

But Bosa, when asked last week if there were any quarterbacks he hates, said “all of them.” Well, maybe not all. He made sure to clarify that he doesn’t “hate” Burrow.

“Yeah, he’s a good friend of mine and I definitely want to hit him a few times,” Bosa said, via 49ers Web Zone.

It turns out Bosa and Burrow have a close relationship thanks to their time together in Columbus.

“We’re all teammates so we get along,” Bosa said. “He was a year older and we were all in the same dorms. Me and my roommate became good friends with their group — Joe, Sam Hubbard, a few other guys, Justin Hilliard who was there. That was all our group.”

The friendship continued even after Burrow transferred to LSU and won a national championship. Now, the duo will be getting ready to face off in an NFL game.

In fact, be the first time the two will face each other in the NFL. However, Burrow has faced Bosa’s brother, Joey, a couple times in his two seasons with the Bengals.

Bosa was the No. 2 overall pick by the 49ers in 2019 and Burrow went No. 1 to the Bengals in 2020.

Cincinnati is 7-5 and San Francisco is 6-6, so there are still some playoff implications on the line when the two teams face off Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Joe Burrow responds to Nick Bosa

Burrow responded to Bosa’s comments and how close they were, and he gave an equally funny response.

“I think I’d prefer to see him in the offseason and hang out with him then,” Burrow said.

But as it turns out, the two talk during the regular season. They play video games online, and it sounds like Burrow’s getting pretty good at them.

At least, that’s what Bosa said.

“He’s good at Rocket league,” Bosa said. I played it all of college and he hadn’t played it really in college, then he started playing it recently. Whatever he decides to do, he’s usually pretty obsessed and good at it. So he’s pretty good now.”
