Checking in as the No. 19 overall prospect in the class is IMG Academy wide receiver and Chicago native Carnell Tate. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Tennessee is the team to beat in Carnell Tate’s recruitment. The Volunteers have a 54.8% chance of landing his commitment. Ohio State is second with a 36.1% chance, followed by Notre Dame at 7.2%.
The Volunteers moved into the top spot on Tate’s list just recently. Both Ohio State and Notre Dame were considered heavy favorites throughout the early part of his recruitment. He previously named Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee as his top five schools.
Carnell Tate Scouting Summary
“Carnell Tate is a well-rounded receiver with technical savvy and a large catch radius. Has very long arms and big hands. Highly coordinated with the ability to track, adjust and high point the football in contested situations. Additionally, Carnell Tate has shown some encouraging route-running skills. Doubles as a dangerous return man due to his change of direction and open-field vision. A good athlete with play speed, though not quite as fast as some of his peers in a combine setting.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
