On3 RPM update on 2023's No. 1 RB Richard Young
Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh Senior four-star running back Richard Young has had three schools at the top of his unofficial list for a little while in Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, one of those teams has a fair lead over the other two.
RPM has the Buckeyes as the current leader in Young’s recruitment with a 46.6% chance of ending up with the No. 1 ranked running back in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The Crimson Tide are in second with a 31.6% chance and the Bulldogs are in third with an 18.6% chance.
“They’re definitely fighting for me,” Young told On3’s Chad Simmons this weekend.
Richard Young is considering other schools
While there is a clear gap between his top three and everyone else, Richard Young has not ruled out other teams hoping to get into the mix. And there are many teams trying to fight their way into the mix, including Florida, Miami and Oregon, among others.
He is also not ruling out his offers from HBCUs such as Jackson State, Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T.

“I’m still considering them a lot,” Young told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “Deion Sanders, the FAMU coach (Willie Simmons). I’m still considering them. I’ve been talking to them to see how things could go in the future.”
He is the No. 24 overall recruit and No. 7 prospect in the state of Florida in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus.
Young currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $37k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
