On300 LB Keylan Moses down to five finalists, ready to reveal decision next Thursday
Keylan Moses has taken another massive step forward as his much-anticipated commitment date approaches.
Moses, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 22-ranked LB in the Class of 2025, is set to reveal his college decision on Thursday, November 30. The On300 junior named Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Florida and LSU as his finalists ahead of next week’s announcement, which will take place at Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab School as a part of Moses’ 17th birthday.
“I’m the type of person who likes to know what’s ahead, likes to plan things out so things go a certain way,” Moses told On3. “This off-season, I didn’t want to do a lot of visits. I’m doing everything a little fast. I’m already a senior. Time flew by, so I’m cutting it down and it’s benefiting me to lead my team. I have more priorities beyond myself and I’m ready. After talking to my mom, I’m excited about it. I made a mature decision and there’s no looking back on it.”
Here’s more on each of Moses’ final five schools:
Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Florida and LSU are finalists
On Texas:
“Coach Sark is a really cool guy. He’s really cool, really laid-back. I met him my sophomore year. He was cool, calm, collected. The campus is really nice. Getting the chance to be coached by Coach (Jeff) Choate and Coach K (Pete Kwiatkowksi) was cool. They’re really genuine. I like how they coached me. I enjoyed my time out there at the elite camp doing my thing. I enjoyed competing out there and to be in that setting was nice. It’s a big, big city.”
On Tennessee:
“They’ve been in contact with me since my sophomore year. The big thing for me is loyalty. They’ve contacted me and I’ve heard from them since August 1. They text me and I hear from them daily. Me and Coach Danny (O’Rourke) have great conversations almost every day. My position coach (Brian Jean-Mary) and time with Coach Danny, it’s always good with them. We can talk about family or religion or anything, but football, and I appreciate the realness of them.”

On Oregon:
“Those are my people there. Coach Tosh (Lupoi) has been my guy since the sixth grade. He’s always been my guy. Coach AP (Antonio Parks) from Louisiana being up there is a huge part of it. Talking to him, to Coach Tosh, he’s real genuine. I like how he coaches. B Mike (Brian Michalowski) is cool. Those guys are nice. The environment got me. For a kid from Louisiana to be up there with the scenery, it was a real experience. Those guys made me feel really comfortable. They made it feel like Louisiana, made it feel like home, and they gave me a different perspective on being different, which was nice.”
On Florida:
“I love it up there. Florida is a second home to me. The whole staff is from Louisiana. Coach (Jay) Bateman is a character. That’s my guy. I love him. I enjoy talking to him and getting coached by him. Coach Bateman is someone I know I can trust. Every time we talk, we talk about football and he has a great understanding of defensive schemes and how things are supposed to be run. It’s enjoyable up in Florida. I got family up there and they’re down South and close to home. I just love it up there. It feels like home when I’m up there with those guys because they’re from Louisiana and they’ve experienced what I experienced. Talking to them, being real with them …”
On LSU:
“LSU is pushing for me really hard right now. Seeing those guys on the field, when I’m watching the games, I put myself in those situations, and when I’m out there making this play in front of all those people, I would go absolutely nuts. I really loved it up there and they make me feel good. They make me feel like I don’t have to change. There’s just an understanding because they’ve literally seen me grow up. They’re literally family. They know my situation, especially Coach Frank (Wilson). I tell him everything. LSU is just family. Growing up and seeing Tyrann Mathieu highlights, Leonard Fournette highlights, seeing those guys grow and prosper deeply, it’s been great to see it all.”
