On300 S Kylin Jackson pushes back commitment date, down to two teams
Four-star Louisiana safety Kylin Jackson was aiming to have a commitment in place on Monday as two-a-days get underway for the defending Class 5A champs in Zachary. Instead, he will have one made by the end of the week.
The On300 safety will announce his college commitment on Saturday, August 13. The state championship-winning defender from Baton Rouge powerhouse Zachary (La.) High School will choose between LSU and Texas A&M.
Jackson, who originally aimed to have a decision made on Aug. 8, was considering Michigan and Oregon as well, but is now down to a pair of SEC West foes.
“It’s been really hard,” Jackson told On3 on the decision-making process. “Both schools have really picked up the communication. LSU and Texas A&M — they’ve both been coming really strong and the push has been really good. They’re making it close, so I think I’m gonna push it back a few days just to be fully sure of where I really want to go.”
Jackson is the country’s No. 11-ranked safety on the On3 Consensus. He’s been a top priority for both the Tigers and Aggies for several years to this stage and especially as crunch time nears. His fit at both programs has been a major emphasis in recent weeks.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“With LSU they got the new staff and they have still been pushing. The new staff is really on it,” Jackson said. “At the same time, Texas A&M never took their foot off the gas. They’ve been on it, too.”
Jackson has made a string of visits to SEC schools throughout the spring and summer. The Tigers and Aggies have been recruiting the four-star from The Boot since he was an underclassman, and he most recently visited LSU in July. The in-state Tigers are leading the way on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine after Jackson was at the pool party last month.
Jackson is tabbed as the No. 157 overall player in the country regardless of position on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
