Packers claim receiver Travis Fulgham off waivers
The Green Bay Packers have claimed former Denver receiver Travis Fulgham off waivers, NBC’s Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday. Fulgham was cut by the Broncos on Tuesday to bring their roster to the league maximum of 85 players.
Travis Fulgham brings experience to a Packers receiving corps that lost both Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling this offseason. Green Bay added three rookie receivers in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure, while also signing free agent Sammy Watkins.
A sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to Detroit, Fulgham played just three games as a rookie and did not record any stats. His best season came the following year upon signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he recorded 38 catches for 539 yards and four touchdowns. That included a five-week run that saw him catch 29 passes for 435 receiving yards.
Fulgham originally signed to the Dolphins practice team last season, but was released in December before Denver picked him up. He appeared in one game with the Broncos last season.
Green Bay has two more preseason games remaining after dropping their first on Friday against San Francisco. After that, the Packers are scheduled to kick off the 2022 regular season on Sept. 11 against Minnesota.

Packers release pair of players Wednesday
Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst announced a few more transactions on Wednesday. The first was the release of wide receiver Malik Taylor and in conjunction with that was the signing of rookie safety De’Vante Cross.
Cross played his collegiate career at the University of Virginia with the Cavaliers. At Virginia, he played in a total of 59 games between 2017 and 2021, starting in 34 of them. Cross recorded 129 tackles, 78 solo, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and six interceptions. Cross would go undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft but signed with the Washington Commanders shortly afterward in May.
Taylor went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly after. However, the Buccaneers waived him before the start of the preseason and afterward, he was picked up by the Packers. With Green Bay, Taylor has played in a total of 25 games over two seasons, with one start. He has recorded seven receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown. The Packers also used Taylor as a kick returner during his tenure there.
