Micah Parsons questions Jalen Hurts as NFL MVP candidate
Jalen Hurts is playing on a different level right now, having the Eagles in position to be the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. From a personal standpoint, Hurts is in the thick of the MVP race due thanks to his ability as both a passer and a thrower. In total, the Philadelphia quarterback has 3,843 yards (686 rushing) and 32 touchdowns (10 rushing).
While many across the league are in awe of what Hurts has accomplished, Micah Parsons doesn’t seem too overly impressed.
It’s not unusual for somebody associated with the Dallas Cowboys to not think as highly of a Philadelphia Eagle. But rarely is a player doing so in public, as Parsons was questioning Hurts being involved in the MVP discussion.
“You look at the Eagles,” Parsons began. “Is it Jalen Hurts or the team? It’s system and team.”
Parsons was having a conversation with Von Miller on his show, The Von Cast, where there was some pushback. Miller argued both Hurts and the Eagles can be playing well, especially with top-level offensive talent.
“They got a great offensive line, which helps Hurts,” Miller said. “Hurts has AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. They got a good running game.”
Brown has been a revolution for Philadelphia, acquiring him on draft night from the Tennessee Titans. Hurts has connected well with the wide receiver, bringing another threat to the field and taking some attention off Smith.

When listening to Miller’s case, Parsons insisted there was no disrespect being thrown around. He just wanted to voice his opinion on something he feels strongly about.
“I’m not trying to make no enemies,” Parsons said. “I just love the game so much and I understand it so much that when things are off, I can’t hold it in. I almost got to say something. But everyone has their opinions.”
Parsons did go on to say Hurts is a good quarterback, and there is no denying that. The numbers he has put up this season are rarely seen. Combine how well the Eagles are planning on the deep playoff run they are expected to make, Hurts could very well end up with an MVP.
Dallas-Philadelphia never sleeps and with the two coming up on the schedule, things are only going to get more intense. Circle your calendar for Christmas Eve, when the Cowboys will play host for a crucial NFC East showdown.
Plenty of matchups across the board but Hurts-Parsons may take the cake.
