76ers Tyrese Maxey set career-high in points with 44 against Raptors
It is official after Friday night’s victory over the Toronto Raptors; the Philadelphia 76ers have found their next star, possibly superstar, for years to come, in former Kentucky Wildcats guard Tyrese Maxey. Maxey had a career performance in Toronto with four assists, eight rebounds, and a career-high 44 points. And those 44 points came on another career high and three-pointers made with nine.
The 76ers started off the year slow, with three straight losses to open the season. In those three losses, Maxey took more of a complimentary role, scoring 21, 15, and 25, respectively. After an off night in Philadelphia’s first win of the season against the Indiana Pacers, the former Wildcat went off for 31 and Friday night’s 44 points in back-to-back matchups against the Raptors. With this performance, Maxey bumps up to an average of 24 points per game, putting him in a three-way tie at No. 18 with Anthony Davis and Jaylen Brown for the league leaders. It also puts him just 3.6 points behind superstar leader Joel Embid, who currently sits at No.14

Popeyes responds to Karl-Anthony Towns over comments
Popeyes is here to bring athletes together, not tear teams apart.
“Good luck to every high level athlete who eats Popeyes regardless of what their teammates say,” the Popeyes Twitter account wrote.
The tweet was made due to comments made by Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns after Monday’s 115-106 loss against the San Antonio Spurs.

His teammate and fellow former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards is the jokester of the group, and always has a fun time when he’s doing media. Towns has taken exception with his teammates off-the-court antics and let it be known in a public setting.
“I know y’all think it’s funny up here when he talks about Popeyes and all that s***. That doesn’t make me happy to hear,” Towns said Monday.
While Towns and Edwards are solving their problems, Popeyes wanted to make sure they got the last laugh in a situation they found themselves in the middle of out of nowhere, and they delivered.
