Report: 'Physical altercation' breaks out at Golden State Warriors practice involving Draymond Green, Jordan Poole
Golden State Warriors stars Draymond Green and Jordan Poole were involved in a “physical altercation” during a Wednesday practice, The Athletic reported. Discipline could be coming as a result.
The incident occurred during practice Wednesday morning when an interaction between Poole and Green escalated to the point where Green “forcefully struck” Poole, according to The Athletic. That’s when the two went chest-to-chest and started pushing and shoving each other. Then, things started to get more heated.

Green and Poole are known to verbally spar in practice, according to the report, so it didn’t seem unusual at first. However, the team thought it was starting to go too far, and now discipline is “imminent” from the organization.
Poole burst onto the scene last season — his third in the NBA after some big moments at Michigan. He went from G-League star to averaging 18.5 points per game and helping the Warriors to another NBA title. The Warriors drafted him in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft and he was third team All-NBA G-League before moving up to the NBA last year.

Green has been a mainstay in Golden State after starring at Michigan State. He’s been with the Warriors since they drafted him in 2012 and helped them to four championships during that time. A four-time All-Star, he’s proven to be an effective two-way player while also providing a spark with his fiery playing style.
Golden State is gearing up to play three more preseason games before the regular season gets started. The Warriors are coming off a trip to Tokyo, where they took on the Washington Wizards twice. They’re now getting ready for a preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and will start the regular season Oct. 18 against the Lakers at the Chase Center.
