Levi Wallace will be wearing a new jersey during the 2022 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After spending four years with the Buffalo Bills, a new challenge is in front of the star cornerback.

When asked how the culture in Pittsburgh compares to Buffalo, Wallace said it’s mostly similar. He first cited how everyone is working to get better but also loves how there is a “family” type atmosphere. Wallace has already begun to bond with his new teammates.

“Kind of the same,” Wallace said. “Just hard-working guys. Around the locker room, you can just tell there’s a lot of love here. Just how everyone communicates, laughs, and jokes. Feels like a family and I am happy to be a part of it.”

When asked more about the defensive back room, Wallace said he was more speaking on his position group than anything. Everyone has gotten along splendidly as they have been competitive throughout the offseason.

“That’s honestly what I was speaking on,” said Wallace. “I’m just in the DB room most of the time and those guys just have a good bond and so we’ve bonded a couple times this offseason. Did some golfing things and hung out but it’s been good. Like I said, I’ve enjoyed it a lot.”

Wallace even said he was the best golfer out of all the defensive backs. Altough, he wouldn’t go as far as saying the entire Steelers team.

“I’m not going to say that but I am the best DB golfer,” Wallace joked.

Levi Wallace reunites with Alabama defensive back teammate

Former Alabama defensive backs Levi Wallace and Minkah Fitzpatrick have reunited on the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, and the duo looks to replicate their collegiate success in the NFL. After starting their professional careers elsewhere, the duo now meets up in the AFC North for the first time since the 2018 College Football Playoff national championship win over Georgia.

Since Levi Wallace has joined the Steelers this offseason, he says he has spoken with Minkah Fitzpatrick at length but still holds seniority.

“I’ve definitely taught Minkah everything he knows back at ‘Bama,” joked Wallace. “So it’s like talking to myself back there. No, I’m just playing. Minkah’s just a leader day in and day out. Even when we leave here, he always wants to do extra stuff like go swimming to work on our lungs or get another lift in. And I’m like, ‘Yo, Minkah, relax dude. I’m 27, you’re just 25.’ So it’s fun being with him again and just the leadership he is. He’s easy to talk to, easy to ask questions to, as he’s always been. He just wants the best for everybody here. So just to have a guy like that in the secondary… it’s definitely benefitted me.”
