Pittsburgh Steelers expected to trade for Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson pending physical
The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly bringing in Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson for a physical, which will be the final step in a pending trade between the Steelers and Rams, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.
The Rams granted Robinson permission to seek a trade in March and it appears he has now found a new home.
“WR Allen Robinson is due $15 million guaranteed this season, of which the Rams already have paid $5 million,” Schefter added in his reporting. “It is expected that the Steelers will pay a portion of the remaining $10 million to Robinson, per sources.”
Following the Rams’ Super Bowl win in 2022, they signed Robinson to a three-year deal for $46.5 million. The contract made him one of the top 40 highest-paid wideouts in the league. However, in his first season in L.A., he played in 10 games, catching 33 passes for just 339 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson went on injured reserve in November due to a foot injury.
The former second-round draft pick out of Penn State is 29 years old and going into his 10th season in the league. He’s played for the Jaguars, the Bears and the Rams so far, but appears headed for his fourth team this offseason.
Robinson has 528 career regular-season catches for 6,748 yards and 43 touchdowns. In his nine seasons so far, he’s had three seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards. His best year, statistically, was in 2015 with the Jaguars. He had 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns.
