Pittsburgh Steelers: Inactives revealed for Week 1 at Cincinnati Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers are ready to start their season in Cincinnati, taking on the defending champions of the AFC in the Bengals.
It’s going to be a huge day for the franchise, as the first game of the post-Ben Roethlisberger era is on the docket. Leading the way will be quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who the Steelers acquired via free agency hoping to develop the former top pick’s untapped potential.
However, waiting in the wings is the Steelers’ 2022 first round pick, quarterback Kenny Pickett by way of Pittsburgh. After finishing as a Heisman finalist last season, Pickett will be hoping to see some game action in 2022, and fans will want to see him as well, especially if Trubisky struggles.
Nevertheless, the Steelers are back and rearing to start 1-0. Here’s who won’t be on the field for them on Sunday.
Pittsburgh Steelers Inactives:
- QB Mason Rudolph
- OL Kendrick Green
- WR Steven Sims
- DE Isaiahh Loudermilk
- LB Mark Robinson
Cincinnati Bengals Inactives:
- RB Trayveon Williams
- OL D’Ante Smith
- OL Max Sharping
- TE Devin Asiasi
- DT Jay Tufele

Moreover, the Steelers just completed their quarterback competition heading into the regular season. Unfortunately, though, one name was not amongst the competitors. The franchise lost 24-year old, former first-round QB Dwayne Haskins in a car accident over the offseason.

While his time in Pittsburgh was short, the franchise is honoring Haskins for the 2022 NFLseason. They will wear his No. 3 as a commemorative sticker on the back of their helmets to honor his memory.
Haskins didn’t see any regular season action during his one year in Pittsburgh. He did play two seasons for Washington where he threw for over 2,800 yards and 12 touchdowns. That was before the franchise drafted him 15th overall in 2019 following a breakout sophomore year at Ohio State.
The retirement of Ben Roethlisberger left the door open for Haskins to potentially get his next shot in the NFL this season. However, tragedy struck and, with Pittsburgh’s season kicking off on Sunday, the franchise is doing their part to honor the memory of a young prospect and person taken too soon.
