The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2022-23 NFL schedule has been released heading into head coach Mike Tomlin’s first season with the organization without longtime franchise quarterback Ben Rothlisberger. While the man who will take the first snaps of the Steelers’ season under center in unknown, the teams that Pittsburgh will play is not.

Pittsburgh will play eight home games next season compared to nine on the road. Home and away games include bouts against all three AFC North rivals in the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, as is tradition.

Aside from division rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will make the trek to Pittsburgh next season. Meanwhile, the Steelers will hit the road for games against all three division rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Steelers’ 2022 NFL schedule

The biggest question regarding the Steelers heading into next season that Tomlin needs to answer is who will start under center for the Black & Gold come September? Tomlin said that first round draft pick Kenny Pickett will certainly be in contention to take over the reigns of starter alongside Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph following Roethlisberger’s retirement.

While the quarterback battle will certainly be underway this year, the fact that Tomlin drafted a quarterback in the first round for the first time since he took over as Steelers head coach in 2007 should be enough to know how highly the front office thinks of Pickett and his future with the organization.
