Pittsburgh Steelers: TJ Watt ready for primetime matchup vs. Seahawks
The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for their second-straight win as they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football.
Steelers star pass rusher TJ Watt is fired up for a primetime matchup under the lights at home.
“I’m super excited for Heinz Field,” Watt said. “It was pretty rockin’ and rollin’ last time we play there in a nighttime atmosphere. The place will be absolutely nuts. The fans help so much, especially for us pass rushers and as a defense. The louder they are, the better that we are.”
Many NFL superstars are known for their elaborate pregame routines, superstitions and rituals but the Pittsburgh Steelers’ star pass rusher says while he notices his teammates partaking, he says experience has helped him keep things constant no matter the day or game.
“Everybody likes to say that they’re not superstitious, or they don’t like to say they’re superstitious all that stuff,” the former Wisconsin star continued. “But I see guys eating the same meal every game day and all that stuff too, so I think it definitely can mess up some guys. I’m now my fifth year so I kind of know what my body likes to do, what it needs to do for a Sunday night game.”
Roethlisberger says Pittsburgh Steelers offense still has ‘long way to go’
The Steelers offense was the primary storyline for three-straight weeks, for all the wrong reasons.
Ben Roethlisberger and a crew of skill players including their first-round running back, Najee Harris, couldn’t find chemistry.
While it wasn’t a perfect performance, Big Ben and company finally found success in a much-needed 27-19 victory over a Denver Broncos team that was surging coming into the matchup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers veteran signal caller has played long enough to understand one decent week doesn’t mean all the lingering issues are solved.
“We’re not by any means going to sit here and say we’re fixed, we’re this great offense,” Roethlisberger said. “We’re not there yet. We still have a long way to go.
Still, Sunday’s home win should provide a glimmer of hope for die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
Both Roethlisberger and first-year Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada have spent post-game pressers the last three weeks answering questions about the stagnant offense, but the narrative was different following the Denver win.
Harris was the Pittsburgh Steelers first 100-yard rusher in 16 games, a stat that feels staggering. Roethlisberger had his first multiple touchdown game with no interceptions since Week 15 last season. And the Steelers had more runs than passes for the first time since Week 5 in 2020, a sign that some semblance of balance might be returning.
The result? A 27-19 home victory against a Denver Broncos team that entered the contest with just one loss and has one of the more formidable defenses in the NFL.
On Sunday, Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers have an opportunity to continue last week’s momentum against a Seattle defense that has struggled at times throughout the year, particularly in the secondary.
Kickoff between the Steelers and Seahawks is set for 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
