Police release new details surrounding alleged shooting in Joe Mixon's neigborhood
Police have released more details regarding the situation that led them to enter Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Mixon’s house early Tuesday morning. A juvenile was injured in an alleged shooting, reports said.
Mixon’s home is “part of the crime scene” after an alleged shooting Monday night, the Hamilton County Police Department said in a statement to TMZ. Police entered the home at approx. 1:30 a.m. EST, nearly five hours after the initial report of “shots fired” came in.
WLWT-TV’s Mike Dardis reported Mixon’s sister said he “was not involved” in the shooting. No arrests were made after officers left the house and the scene has been cleared.

A juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries as a result of the incident, which police responded to at 8:30 p.m. EST. It’s unclear how the juvenile was injured, according to FOX 19. Police put crime scene tape around Mixon’s home and at least one evidence marker was in his yard. Then, a half hour after putting up the tape, police knocked on the door asked the owner to come outside.

An officer left the home with an envelope at approximately 1:30 a.m. EST and the crime scene tape got taken nearly two hours later. No arrest was made, and neither the Bengals nor Mixon commented on the situation as of publication.
This isn’t the first time Mixon’s name has come up in legal circles. Police issued an arrest warrant for him in February after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman one day before the AFC Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. However, the case was dismissed and police admitted the warrant was issued prematurely.
During the 2022 season, Mixon ran for 814 yards and seven touchdowns on 210 attempts. His best season yet in the league came in 2021, when he racked up over 1,500 all-purpose yards and 16 total touchdowns.
