Four quarterbacks taken in the first round

While quarterbacks are typically the talk of the draft, that does not appear to be the case this year. There isn’t a clear-cut top quarterback in the class, leaving an interesting situation for quarterback needy teams at the top. In this mock draft, Matt Corral is the first quarterback taken, going to Washington fifth overall.

The Eagles select Liberty quarterback Malik Willis at ninth overall. Kenny Pickett (21st to Pittsburgh) and Desmond Ridder (30th to Detroit) also get the nod in the first round in this mock draft.

No running backs are taken in the first round. If that becomes true on draft night, it will be the first time no running back has gone in the first round since 2014. Overall, 14 offensive players are taken in this mock draft compared to 18 defensive players.

The SEC dominates this mock draft with 15 selections. No other conference has more than five selections. While the draft order and stocks of players taken are going to drastically change over the coming months, the mock gives an interesting glimpse into what could happen come draft night after the season.
