Everything went beyond well for 49ers DB Emmanuel Moseley during San Francisco’s 37-15 win over Carolina. He was a key part of their defensive performance against the Panthers. However, it appears it may have ended in disaster for the fifth-year corner out of Tennessee.

It has since been reported after the game that Moseley tore his ACL during Saturday’s victory. Tests are still needed for an official confirmation but, if true, his season may be over.

Moseley finished Saturday with two tackles, two pass deflections, and a pick-six on Baker Mayfield. On the season, he has 21 tackles, five pass deflections, and today’s interception. However, his season may be cut short depending on what the tests reveal heading into next week. There’s some depth in San Francisco’s secondary, but the 49ers will be hoping for the best when it comes to Moseley’s tests.

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley notched the first pick-six of his NFL career on Sunday versus Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers.

The former Tennessee Volunteers star read Mayfield’s eyes and was in the perfect spot to grab a ball that the quarterback threw too high for his receiver.

Moseley caught the ball and ran it back for a 41-yard touchdown. The score put the 49ers up 17-3 with the clock ticking down to the end of the first half.

Moseley, in his fifth season with the 49ers, had 16 tackles coming into the game on Sunday. Although he had one interception in each of the last three seasons, he hadn’t nabbed one this year until the pick-six versus Carolina.

In March of 2021, he signed a two-year, $10.1 million extension with San Francisco but he’ll be an unrestricted free agent once again after this season.
